The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is officially ushering in a new chapter in its leadership today, Friday, July 31, 2026, as outgoing Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, hands over the mantle of leadership to his successor, Prof. Segun Aina.

Today’s ceremony officially marks the conclusion of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede’s transformative tenure, paving the way for Prof. Segun Aina to assume leadership of the nation's primary tertiary matriculation examination body.
President Bola Tinubu previously announced the appointment of Prof. Aina in an official statement released by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga. The appointment highlights a strategic focus on technological advancement, transparency, and operational excellence.

Prof. Segun Aina brings an impressive academic and professional background to his new role:
Academic Excellence: He is a distinguished Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, specializing in digital infrastructure, national examination systems, and institutional reforms.
Global Qualifications: He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, a Master's degree in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He is also an alumnus of the Senior Management Programme at the Lagos Business School.
Extensive Experience: With over 15 years of advisory experience supporting federal and state governments in digital transformation and institutional reform, Prof. Aina is well-equipped for the task ahead.
Examination Sector Expertise: He has previously served as a vital consultant to major examination bodies, including the National Examinations Council (NECO) and the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), focusing heavily on ICT systems and examination integrity.
Standing out as one of Nigeria's youngest professors of Computer Engineering, Prof. Aina also makes history as the youngest registrar ever to lead JAMB.
